Subtitles aren't the same as transcriptions. Transcriptions are literal, subtitles are not. Subtitles have many accessibility rules, like how many words are allowed, how much time should be between successive lines, timestamps should m

What I've learned is that there isn't such thing as focus. Focusing is not something you can do. Focus is simply a lack of distractions. If you block all distractions, the only thing left is focus. Blocking distractions is somethi

It should also be inevitable that people develop tech for defending themselves as a response. Face masks / face paints might become more popular.

People confuse a lot of things about volatility, risk, and long term valuation. Bitcoin is an inherently good long term store of value, because it has deterministic and finite inflation schedule, which is also plausibly immutable (contrary

Just use DLSS. It looks great and the graphics settings are designed around it. I'm not sure if the earlier DLSS versions were crappy, but this latest one doesn't seem to have any weird artifacts. I much prefer setting DLSS on pe

Lmao. This is often how everything seems from the outside, but the inside story is something else. Probably just too much work, not enough time.

Eh, government regulating AI which is used by people to help them vote? I don't see bots as a huge problem, because it's somewhat easy to verify that someone is a real person, and it would be quite obvious if someone is using lots

Costs will come down, while capability will go up. I'm thinking of a some kind of box in every home, with special inference chips; not really a "PC". In principle, every human should have access to the same level of AI. There

Yeah, it is a true risk. What happens when people start making their voting decisions with AI, asking who to vote? Nothing wrong with that per se, but it gives an ultimate power to the company who developed and hosts the AI, which means the

I've been playing with a 3090. I play in 1440p 21:9 ultrawide. So far it seems that medium settings with DLSS 720p and raytracing on medium is the most solid one. On high settings it's mostly fine, but in the forest it gets slower

I'm guessing they're rendering those trees without any LODs, i.e. they're always pushing millions of polygons. That's why the settings don't make a huge difference.

You'll have to enable v-sync to limit framerate. I enable it always (or fps limit) because I don't like blasting my GPU at 100% which makes it hot and loud.

Bitcoin needed maximum 'memeability' i.e. the idea had to spread as fast and wide as possible. That is why the 4 year halfing cycle and absolute scarcity was chosen. The 21 million cap is easy to understand and tell your friends a

Fructose specifically is the problem. It has completely different metabolism compared to glucose. It's explained in the above video, starting from around 43:00. Also, one of its effects is that it increases appetite.

You can do this with atom level simulation and growing the brain all the way from DNA, but it needs a lot of compute (> 50 years). However, and in the end you'd be bored, because you could get rid of all of your human flaws, which i
