After going through a bunch of merino socks over several years I'm back to bulk packs of basic wool socks for pretty much all outdoor activity. The $20 a pair merino socks are just not that much better than the 2$ a pair basic wool s

I was fortunate to grow up in the 80s, I was allowed to freely roam the neighbourhood, but spent most of my summer days at the playground because it was awesome (aka dangerous). I credit a great deal to the formative '9 lives' ski

When you get old enough, not much is novel anymore. Depth is where it's at. All the same stuff but with a richer appreciation for the subtlety, nuance and variety in things that might all seem the same to the less experienced.

I don't see the practical difference between that and having a real human deliver fake news. The practical difference will come when the fake news is tailored to the biases of each individual viewer.

When in high school, early nineties, I got into the habit of going to the library and spending hours working through stacks of periodicals. Before I could read I systematically worked my way through my grandmother's 30 year Nat Geo col

If we've guessed that the number will be in the mid to high 20s, then 27 is the only number one could logically arrive at. 24, 25, 26, and 28 are easy to eliminate because 19,863 is neither an even number nor a multiple of 5. That'

I solved it deductively pretty much the way you did, but I wouldn't have approached it that way at all if I couldn't assume that the cube root of 19,683 would be a whole number.
