I don't understand it. So there are bots that have been posting "porn" for a bunch of years. And now they post political messages. How does that influence anybody? Who subscribes to porn bots? I would have thought only other

Try to avoid the use of ‘IN’ or ‘NOT IN’. By doing this you are performing a full table scan as the query engine looks through every row to check if the condition is met. Is that really true for PostgreSQL? Take this q

If you want to use a different language, why would you care about the compile target? Compiling is done by the compiler. So to the developer it is the same. No matter if it comiles to Javascript or Webassembly. In the end, I don't thin

I wouldn't be surprised if improvements in Javascript execution will make webassembly obsolete. It already has a slim advantage of being 2x faster. And Javascript has so many advantages in terms of handling. No compilation step needed

The one annoying thing about SQLite is that there is no easy way to change the table structure. Adding/Removing/Renaming columns is super complicated and afaik there is no good command line tool that does it for you. That is the p

On most desktop browsers you should be able to right-click the image and display it in a new tab which then lets you zoom any way you want. On Android there is a setting to always enable zoom.

"Bigger" as in higher market cap. How big are Amazon and eBay these days in terms of dollar value sold via their market places? If eBay is anywhere near Amazon and Shopify stores outsell eBay, that would be pretty spectacularely.

One thing I always wonder when I see native software posted here: How do you guys handle the security aspect of executing stuff like this on your machines? Skimming the repo it has about a thousand lines of code and a bunch of dependencies

Meaning if there are 24 factors crucial for life to evolve, and each has a 10% chance of occurring - it's actually quite likely only one planet would win on this lottery. Is it? What is the probability?

Then why can't we make sharp high resolution photos of distant planets? Shouldn't we be able to average out all the noise for every pixel if we just collect light long enough?
