It's all quite true. It's also, at times, a grindingly soul-crushing attitude that'll suck the joy out of your life and the excitement out of your soul. Every training cycle, every sleep/wake learning cycle, every mome

This is great advice, but I'm not sure it hits the mark I'm trying to hit - I do already talk to my little guy about what things were hard vs. easy, and how much I admire his efforts, but there's a flow to interactions, espec

Putting a little TL;DR up here on top, because I'd really like to see folks' answers to this: What's the simple-language equivalent of, "You're so smart," or "That was so smart," but for intellectual

Most interesting, I make the exact same distinction, but have the terms reversed - joy is what can coexist with sadness, happiness is sadness's mutually exclusive term, in my own in-mind lexicon.

Now, I don't necessarily disagree that it's a bad idea overall, but the anthropomorphic quality is NOT what makes this absurd. Not at all, not even a little. An abstract organization of people can be invested in, have its collec

And holy monkey, your comment is about as self referential as they get. You don't offer any coherent points to argue, you make a comparison so vague that, indeed, you do not actually tell us what it is, but rather just that you have a

I assert that it would be erroneous to call this a firing, precisely because a the primary reason people use the word, "fired," is because it implies 3 things: 1. Something I did was bad enough that I don't work there anymore
