Interesting. What if you listen to a recording of yourself eating? While you're at if see how much you can distort it before it stops or starts to bother you. E.g. Played backwards, at double speed, half speed, etc.

Developers won't do that for a good while if adoption rates continue at their current level.

Eh. 8.1 works fine for me. I get the performance improvements over 7, but I also get to control when to apply updates. The start screen was an eyesore at first, but I actually kind of like it now. The Windows 10 "start menu" is mu

The benchmarks I've seen don't really point to DX12 as being an optimization.

Maybe you're just lucky, or you're the sort of user MS is targeting with their new UI design. Whenever I'm configuring a W10 machine I find myself going back and forth between two completely different configuration interfaces

That performance improvement happened in 8. 10 didn't bring anything new to the table in terms of optimizations.

I don't think many would object if all dogs could learn to poop in toilets. So even in the case of dogs it would be preferable if they didn't do it outside.

So what exactly are you saying these influences can do? If you tell me that they're going to make me slightly more likely to buy one brand of soap than another, I can accept that. If you tell me that they're going to make me buy d

Well, one thing does not preclude the other. Indians defecate in the street even in large cities. EDIT: People, please google "open defecation in India" before downvoting.

You can if you just do truly massive amounts of exercise. At one point last year I was doing 12 hours of cycling per week and my maintenance caloric intake was approximately 3000 kcal, or that of one and a half normal people.

So what you're saying is that most adults never crossed any major roads as children and most children that have crossed major roads didn't grow up to be adults? I know traffic statistics are depressing, but surely they can't

I love these statistics, but I would just like some clarification on what exactly constitutes a "failure". Does the drive have to stop responding completely, or are a few bad sectors enough to consider the drive "bad"?

Wouldn't the most relaxed form of breathing be whatever it is you do automatically? It seems weird to me that the autonomic nervous system would prefer to use a suboptimal muscle group. Furthermore, I find that when I'm exercising
