Jaron Lanier’s claim is the feedback mechanism (clicks, engagement) isn’t nuanced enough [1]. i.e. If the algorithm had more insight into a given person’s emotional (and intellectual?) response, the outcomes could be better than the status

1) If you're piping data into Sheets, then you most likely don't have good custody practices and aren't limiting edit users to just 1. 2) Sure there's revision history but you can't "roll back just this one cha

Piping user data into Sheets is literally my nightmare. Especially if there's any sort of editing or data transform in sheets, there's 0 traceability of the change.

One time, when we were much smaller and a team of 10, we had a marketer who also thought they were a developer. Instead of choosing an off-the-shelf tagging solution like Google Tag manager, they used Zapier + custom injected code into Word

Must be the case with all Bing-based search engines. Anyone have the technical reasons? Would guess it’s structural (URL, title tags, H1).

Yeah I do and I suspect other people who have gone through a protein heavy diet cycle (like keto) may as well. When it comes to counting macros, bacon’s a great source for fat (that you can also save and re-use in other dishes).

Love the post and I don’t think enough businesses today see data as core to their ability to execute well. First question, how do you see definitions getting managed between the client team and data team? eg “this is the canonical definitio

FWIW I did a keto cycle and found myself sleeping much better when I was getting into the fat adaption phase. Also after wearing my Garmin to gauge heart rate and sleep effectiveness I found refined carbs eaten late in the evening keep me u

This brings up an interesting point which is what makes some cities interesting is their path dependent and organic nature. So, can city planners facilitate organic growth that is able to reorient itself with changing times?

This tells me we have a long way to go to increase business intelligence literacy in companies. Not sure a ton realize that data is now a core piece of their operations.

Fwiw crypto start-up funding was at an all time high in 2021. https://www.cbinsights.com/research/report/blockchain-trends... That’s why I was curious about which data you’re basing the statement on. Was wondering

I’d guess the complexity of operations around returned payments are outsized compared to their dollar value. eg if 1% of payments are returned, they need to devote 10% of their operational overhead to it.

I don’t understand how this statement can be stated confidently. “People in the far future will read the history books with great amusement.” Who knows what’s going to happen in the far future?

+1 I’ve tried one of those “no sugar” diets and the hardest part is you need to make everything from scratch because almost every packaged food in the grocery store has added sugar.

The gain for this particular article is more sales due to more viewers on the page. I’m guessing this content is true. The listed author has a PhD in sport science.
