If IP laws didn't exist, you wouldn't have to make due with the unimaginative pandering garbage Disney deigns to think up. You would be able to tell , share , and transform , movies. That is a vastly better world. Nor world i

When a company's existence hinges on IP ownership, works are blocked from creation - almost by definition. Literally what IP law does, is prevent creation from outside of monopolies.

"Digital Piracy" is not a real thing. It's a convention you're advocating for, and one that reasonable people have still not heard a decent argument for adopting.

I wonder if one could just stuff the tubes with hydrogen, then lanthanum powder, then just let them expand? They might auto-heat from the pressure, and assemble themselves, if you just unfroze them.

"For Windows, install WSL and a distro of your choice and follow the Linux guide." I love these instructions! Also, I'd love to see this converted to a native executable. I wish Nintendo would actually allow that, although I&

That particular horse was never broken to begin with, much less in anyone's barn. fbreader has a tts plugin, and Android has many utilities to convert between different formats. I sometimes use TextAloud (with Paul16, the best TTS voic

I have heard suggestions, that the drive for 5g is to increases the density of wifi signals, since the technology developed for airport scanners can passively image people in areas of high wifi-signal density.

Slack is good for organizations that deal with complex, difficult information, and have a strong respect for seniority. If questions are easy, inane, and ubiquitous, anti-communication swarms become the norm. When most communication is abou

Twitter has denied that it is a publisher in court. It is a Common Carrier in effect, and has benefited - to the detriment of its competitors - from common carrier protections. Any time Twitter has been called to account for what it publish

It isn't just a place of corporate business, though. That's why Trump was not allowed to block people. Twitter shouldn't be able to, either.

Lies. Governments and critical institutions publish information, and court feedback, on Twitter. Everyone is compelled to use Twitter. Its success, influence, and profit, derive largely from its semi-official adoption by so many corporation

Good thing Qt ditched awful WebKit for glorious Chrome. Tracking is "mm mm!" good. It also helps make sure Google's predatory non-compliance and Google-board optimizations continue to spread through all websites. #ThanksQt

Real question: When this doesn't happen, what becomes of the handwringing and the doomsaying? Do we just forget the errors and self-interested lies, and treat the people disingenuously emoting over this nothing, like good people? Serio

The first and last meat in the economy is human. What we need to do, is limit emigration and stabilize crumbling economies that incentivize high-reproduction for subsistence labor.

If putting your money in crypto prevents you from paying taxes, it's you who'd go to jail. If any government saw a dip in taxes, they'd just pass a law requiring an "internet driver's license". Then require you

It's difficult to express how profoundly misapprehended your comparisons are. Moving into a higher-income area is the last thing poor rural Americans want - and the last thing that would help them. They are already living in high assi

But Gnome and Redhat need to have a brand , or how will they gain marketshare? I mean, getting everyone's grandma (and her java server, I guess?) on Linux, is the goal - right? Surely the well behaved user will fight for openness?!
