Your argument is as speculative if not more. Resources are not all equal. The ex driver or ex cashier is not going to starve to death. But it's not getting the same salary, if any at all.

I read it as "everything can be explained with classical physics alone", the same way we can safely assume the Earth is flat for making a small house. We're not going to complicate math by using the curvature the same way we&

I don't think FH is enough for manned mars missions. It has enough delta V to land there but not to come back.

It doesn't need to be. I think it shouldn't be hard to make a build script that re-makes the bundles except for files modified in the last hour.

Fair enough. However games and GUI apps are still a small percentage of applications developed in rust. I want that to change, of course. I just wanted to point that out. I'm personally writing a game in Rust but the main logic is writ

A lot of things did happen. One of them is having the option to check the source which is much faster than compiling. 99% of the time you're compiling code in rust is to run the borrow checker and fix those errors.

I'm not sure how are you interpreting the "constraints". Yes, it's difficult to adapt existing games to VR, but it's possible. Having proper artificial locomotion for 95% of the public and comfortable teleport based

As it has been said, it follows other git features. I disagree that rules based on specificity are better. Sometimes I had a hard time reasoning about conflicting CSS rules with different levels of specificity, while I never had any problem

All those uses you mention don't make exclusive use of VR features. Try some game like Climbey. It is the killer app for me and the only reason I reboot to windows almost every day, to play with a friend or alone.

I'm guessing your friend tried the PSVR or Oculus Rift with heavy use of a controller while seated. Having tracked hands, moving around (instead of turning with a controller) and using teleport (or just room scale 1:1 movement) reduce

It's very safe if you don't disable safety systems put in place (like it was explicitly done in Chernobyl to do dangerous experiments, even though they labeled it as "routine tests"). And if you don't ignore many wa

What's why it says it doesn't imply our safety. It's called _the_ great filter because affects pretty much any attempt of intelligent life, and not because it's the only one.

One of the problems is that hardware changes. Long time ago memory was very limited and there was virtually no cost with branching. Now we have very complex pipelined architecture with branch prediction, many levels of cache, microcode, etc
