I am not surprised. This is a competition between Tesla and Google, technology companies. I never saw Uber, a services company, as being part of this race.

I am happy that my career doesn’t depend on promotions. Convincing people “I deserve a promotion” is often tangential to actually generating value for a business, solving real problems.

No, the argument of the poster you are replying to is that these companies are competing and rooting for one or another doesn’t benefit anybody, developers or costumers.

I’d prefer it if Microsoft, Google, Samsung, and other device makers released products that were on par with Apple’s. We are in this situation because Apple release better products than the competition. As a costumer, I want better products

But I am a customer too. For example, a couple months ago an, ad got my mom to install an app without her consent. She said she could not escape the page until she clicked okay, and she wasn’t aware the app had installed at all. I noticed b

Why? As a developer it sounds like a nightmare, but as a costumer, I like it. It makes for a great experience.

Yes, the absence livable wage non-tech jobs in California is a problem. I don’t understand what isn’t fair in highlighting the issues that are disappointing about the California government. There are alternatives beyond the two party system

That has a lot to do with our tech oriented culture and weather. Most top professionals from other states want to move here or to New York. What are the policies from our leaders that have facilitated this growth? That’s like attributing th

Why do we have so many people leaving the state and the biggest amount of homeless per capita? I am not saying our government is the worst, but it definitely doesn’t seem to be meeting its own goals.

This is disappointing, but expected from our government. As a resident of California, I have an awful impression of the Democrats since most of the problems we are facing are a direct effect from their policy.

Considering the amount of media about San Francisco and red skies, you’d think that was the place that burned. Any actual coverage of the fires and their real impact, lost of natural habitat, sinks into irrelevancy. If a place burns and San

My company went remote first for all product and support roles. The people I spoke to are not only leaving the Bay Area, but the state. People are now buying property in Colorado and other states that are less expensive thank California.

From your source, a NPV of ~$680k in accumulated earnings over 30 years is the average return. That is ~$22,600 earnings per year. I don't think that is a good return by any means. Am I reading the chart correctly? If so, I don't
