Can anybody explain to me what will change because of this decision? DRM has been very much part of the internet since 1995 when RealPlayer was released. DRM has been part of content delivery ever since then. It has not ever seem to have de

I like CoreOS, and I know this is some post that is meant for marketing purposes. But it's a shame they're propagating a myth that good security is the result of good tools. It's a common fallacy to think that these security

Please note that this feature does not exist in isolation. Apple has not invented face unlock - nor have they invented reliable face unlock. You can unlock your Lumia 950 and Galaxy Note 8 (or 7 if you still have one) reliably with your f

To be even more fair: all Android phones you can buy today have a 'secure enclave'. It's been a recommended feature for Google Play certification since Android 5.0, mandatory since 6.0, and part of all Qualcomm, Mediatek, H

I'm not sure why I get this response. You seem to imply I have issue with the quality of Apple's next gen implementation, which I have twice explained I don't. Or you imply that I can't have an opinion on the concept of

No, I brought it up once in my original post as minor compromise in security. As other have pointed out, it might be less secure as you could be more easily be manipulated to unlock your device by accident. It's a minor thing.

I don't get it. This focus on FaceID seems to me some successful marketing spin by Apple, and the media seem to be drinking the Coolaid (again). Face recognition in my book is not a replacement for a fingerprint reader. See I don'

I got bitten quite hard by some edge cases in the combination of btrfs, LUKS and snapper in desktop usage. It was both btrfs and the tooling around it as well as my ignorance. It's not a very interesting story.

I'm not sure what you mean here. Do you mean that: 1) There are known ways to perform Docker escapes on any or some common Docker setup. You could write a Docker escape binary or script today and it would not be a zero day. That's

Ugh RHEL stopping commercial btrfs support in their long term support kernels [1] does not equate to btrfs "being phased out in linux distros". It's just Red Hat, and Red Hat was never a major btrfs promoter. It's also j
