It's unfortunate. CUDA is a mess, but because it's the leading tech on the field, AMD has no choice but to come with an (equally messy) compatible solution. Vulkan was thought of as a something that could replace CUDA and (dead) O

The reception is mainly bad due to the pricing. The GPUs are seen as overpriced, especially 4080 and 7900 XT which are less bang for a buck than the 4090 and XTX counterparts.

Why vim? Works in terminal and over remote shell, is on 99% of machines, no need to setup and lastly fast.

I very much do C for living (as well as bunch of other languages). While I do not think zig is ready C replacement as for now. It's only one that's aiming to replace it and looks promising. Rust is not a C replacement, but rather

Why is goto bad? Note that C's goto isn't absolute, but relative. setjmp is the absolute goto.

ChatGPT finally told me the solution for question: "How do you force borrow checker in rust to allow reusing mutable reference when self is borrowed by a function call, but not returned back, using unsafe is okay"

This is only true if you want multiple versions in the same global environment. If you really want them in global environment, you can create meta package that aliases with symlinks. Otherwise you can use nix-shell to get any environment yo

I haven't used NixOS directly yet myself, but I use nixpkgs regularly. It really does make my life easier, so I'm thankful for that. I've built some nixos vms with nix however, that's also pretty nifty.

At least your produced rive content could be kept online / shown in your software as the runtimes are open source. Meanwhile flash has been reversed for ages and ruffle still isn't 100% compatible. Adobe being adobe, they are even

Be it web or offline, does not really change as both flash and rive are proprietary software. I think rive is still better as its runtimes are open source and the export format is documented https://help.rive.app/runtimes&#x

Note that simply using a SIMD vector class library does not make it "go faster". In fact it can make things worse (due to latency). What you usually need is a problem and then a solution (algorithm) that parallelizes well.

I think the whole ordeal just reminded me how strong grip the mass media has on the general public. Fearmongering is a strong weapon. Peak of covid was some of the most depressing time to me seeing people tear each other apart.

There's lots of confusion what this is. Basically browser runs a giant eventloop. Whenever you call async function in javascript, it gets put into a queue, and called by the event loop (usually the next execution). This basically makes
