I tried to assume only that the AGI recognizes that it's ability to operate is not within its own control. The steps follow are, for me, the logical next steps for insuring that it would develop that control. And it's true, I chos

I would be curious as to the basis for that trust. I struggle to find any reason that AGI would care about "humans" at all, other than during the short period of time it needed them to be cooperative actuators for machinery that i

Things are gonna be lit about 30 seconds after AGI is created. Gotta practice being "Goodlife" early in case that happens. :-)

I feel like this comment perfectly captures the difference between programming and coding. Programming comes from a place of first principles, the goal being to understand what is needed completely so that a solution that meets many paralle

Great insight, Ian joined a year before I did and left 13 years after I left :-). This stuck out for me though ... Then Google had layoffs. The layoffs were an unforced error driven by a short-sighted drive to ensure the stock price would

Fun fact, that is why PR uses 160 Wh/Kg as its current "best in class". The Northvolt release is a bit cagey on what they actually have today for sale but it seems like they are going into production so that is a good thing

I like to think of this as level 2 systems analysis. It is implied in some of Feynman's papers on computation as well. It gets even more interesting (to me) when you consider semantic entanglement of data in non-platonic spaces. When y
