I'm currently job-hunting, so I'll take a look at Job4Dev. You probably should be asking (optional, anon) for salary data. I had no problem providing that info on Glassdoor, though I generally know around how much my friends/associates make

Take a look at glassdoor.com - it handles salary info with context (company, etc)

You'll want to 'switch views' by having more than one. Cool project, even though I prefer having paper so I can refer back to it later. Did make a 4:3 view template though for quick sketching.

Precisely what I was going to post. Both Identi.ca and rStat.us need a compelling reason to switch. Either doing twitter better, or something you can't do on twitter. 'Because Twitter is mean' doesn't pull many users.

It sounds really interesting, but if we have to move for a job my wife would rather move somewhere warmer than the northeast, not colder! Do keep in mind a lot of the boards are US-centric, which might also change the response rates.

The rewrite is a lot better, and specifying Canada was important (dang, I'm job-hunting now and can't apply because of that).

I found this utterly unconvincing, because I fail to see how many of the examples he cited have anything at all to do with drawing up the actual agreement! More importantly to me, the author completely fails to address the impact of the law

'Consolidating' is probably a more apt descriptor. Much of the outer sections are sparse and neglected, but other people have noted it still has an active core.

I'm one of those hate-shopping because I don't really understand style. It's just not part of my mental domain. To "figure out what their style is" is really the missing link for me, and I'd probably pay for this alone. However, I at least

Right. Very large companies are still tied to XP, and therefore Microsoft is. IBM's standard load is still XP, and I haven't seen any Vista or 7 plans yet. I do suspect that they'll skip right to 7 when it's considered "mature" and they all

Then why would you care if you work on it at all? There needs to be some motivation factor.

Ditto. I've been using Founder/Co-Founder instead, which is a lot more accurate.

"It's virtually impossible to sell to school districts" This is exactly the problem I've been wrestling with. The best idea so far has been to appeal to private&charter schools first, and then attempt the big system. Public education is

This is fantastic, and aligns with a project my wife and I have been discussing. It's frustrating that one or both of us would have to hit the Bay Area to do it (on the wrong coast), but certainly going to consider it.

ASIHttpRequest (hated handling network requests before), RegexKitLite (still superior to the recent NSRegEx) and Flurry (why doesn't apple give you this level of detail) are fantastic. Flurry's size is a bit of a downer, but implementation

From my standpoint, it's like trying to browse a store that first requires you to create an account before you can see what the true cost of the item is. I still have no idea what specific information is required to use (my information 'cos

It was more a general complaint about these kinds of popups. However, even in the click-action case it's still annoying to require signup to move on.

Everyone thinks these things are hot stuff lately. I hate them because I'm there to read the content I was linked to. I won't have an opinion of if I'm even interested in subscribing/donating/etc until AFTER I've finished reading it so I do

Unfortunately, by a bit of digging I was able to reveal some actual push tokens. I could now send messages to an app that is not mine!

Very slick visually. How do you plan to support the site later? Feeds/reminders for new posts that fit your criteria would be nice too. PS: The Drupal developer job doesn't appear to exist anymore.

I was a Quicksilver junkie for a bit, but these days Spotlight covers the majority of what I need and works on any Mac. Also notable - Quicksilver and Alfred still appear terrible at explaining WHY you would want to use them.

Balance. Having any sort of hobby/interest that is physical and away from your desk is more important than you might think. Personally, I keep a garden and do home improvement projects, launching into one of these things tends to break the

I meant backup as in having someone else available to do the work when you're on vacation, sick, etc. You don't have that solo. You're right that it might be better, but as I stated - depends on many factors.

I've worked from home 100% of the time for the last 6 years and haven't even met most of the people I work with in person. Your company culture really has to support it, and it's going to be tough if other people are not already doing it. M

That's not a good answer either. You've got no backup, so often it's even less flexible and easier to suddenly devote huge amounts of time to make it work and keep your family fed. Fear is a big motivator. "It depends" is the best answer un

Looks like a school project with associated reading material. The owner forgot or overlooked the fact that the repo is public and indexable.
