Sending $5 to a third party pool so they stake it in your stead under the promise it remains your $5 does not make you a bank. It's more like sending $5 to Robinhood so they buy $BAC in your stead under the (legally backed up) promise

False equivalence, why is your equivalent to staking (investing crypto) applying for a banking license rather than opening a brokerage account (investing dollars)? With the advent of fractional shares anyone can buy $5 of stocks too, but it

Sounds like you just believe whatever you want then, no? How is 80% of sales in Q4 not a pretty good indicator that people do, in fact, "trust Meta with a new X" (or at least don't care enough)? As for that new intuition, wha

Have privacy geeks who keep saying "no one would trust FB with X" ever looked at the numbers? I keep seeing this sentiment around Meta and VR, yet guess which VR company has like >70% market share. https://www.statis

That's quite a way to put it. Someone living through 1908 - 2008 would've also witnessed the start of Putin's autocratic Russia as he manoeuvred to keep power despite ending his second term.
