Even in the US the government needs to buy/take land from every individual in the way. In my experience that maybe wouldn’t be a problem but they try to get it for a ridiculously low amount, so then people (understandably) fight. That

Is that true? I had a credit card when I was a teenager. Is there a way for them to check your age or is it “you have a credit card so we assume you’re 18?” A very similar comparison would be “thots” on Twitch, though.

I don’t think the distinction matters much for the first point. Not many people are going to wait until they’re 25 (or later) to start, and I haven’t heard of anyone pushing for legalization only for >25 year olds.

That depends on what you mean. Tobacco - bad for lungs, throat, mouth. Alcohol - bad for pretty much all of you. Pot - bad for your brain, and other areas depending on how you take it. Can also trigger psychological disorders like schizoph

The idealist in me thinks it should be legal, as what people should put into their bodies should be there choice. The pragmatist thinks it should stay illegal. We know it’s bad for people’s brains, especially developing minds. That’s compou

Most people (in my area) hire a photographer to take senior photos. They may hire me because they see my ad instead of someone else they already know of because they like my work better. Or, let's say they decided to just do it on the

I mostly "boost" posts to my page, for what it's worth. Also, all three of those are worthless for photographers. We're not like a plumber where as long as the job is done right and priced well you're good. Our st

I’m a photographer, and I right now I’m targeting local teenagers and their moms for high school senior portrait sessions. I would think they’d rather see that, be reminded it’s time to get them done, and possibly learn about a better photo

This is a weird argument to make when the lab leak “conspiracy” was censored the same way. Also, there was election fraud. There always is. Was it enough to turn the election? Who knows. To say that people shouldn’t be able to discuss it i

Good luck getting a dev kit. I had a relatively successful game/app on the Wii U, wanted to make a sequel, and have been rejected 3 times without reason.

Eh, UHS-1 is pretty slow compared to an SSD. I think for the types of games I’d want to play on it (emulation) that’d be just fine, but for some it could be a bit annoying. I think they should have gone with a faster interface though.

I don’t believe most medical care is urgent, but I would say the bigger factor is insurance. If you’re going to blow through your deductible anyways the price doesn’t matter much to the consumer.

Sure, but I would like journalism that at least tries. On All Things Considered on NPR a couple of weeks ago one of the hosts was interviewing someone about perceived media bias, and she seemed flabbergasted that people thought they had a b

That’ll all fix itself pretty quickly once the federal unemployment benefits stop, other than prices being somewhat higher due to fuel costs.

It’s in no way trivial to create an alternative site. What makes those social media platforms what they are is the network of people. That’s like saying if Ma Bell decided to kick someone off the telephone system in the 70s that they could

I’ve probably had some long COVID symptoms myself, but self reporting on something like this is next to worthless. You’ve got a mix of the placebo effect with people that had COVID attributing everything negative after to it, all backed wi

I'm personally having a bit of a crisis. I'm 33 and our first baby is due in a few months, and things that simply bothered me before about my own lack of achievement nearly send me in to a panic if I think about them now. This i

And for prescription drugs, tie the prices to what some other countries pay. Some of the solutions are really easy but it’s hard to get done when some politicians are paid off, some want the system to fail so they can do single payer, and s

I’m married to someone about my age, but I don’t see many downsides to dating younger once you’re in your 30s. Mid-20s is old enough for most women to be out of the immature phase of their life, and you’ll have a wife that’s going to look y
