The Tesla model. I wonder if any of them will realise they can just sell cars without a flashy dealership showroom with sales staff and demonstrators?

Indeed, this wouldn't even compile in Go.

But its also faster to compile and use as a developer. And by runtime I mean there's no JVM. If you're used to Java you should probably just stick with it, but using Go is a huge relief to me.

It is lighter and faster and requires no runtime.

> With Go 1.17 it took 56 seconds to format all files This sounded extremely slow to me - go fmt is normally instant. Granted, cockroachdb is a big project But I had to download and try, and on my computer (Ryzen 5950X) it only took ~3.

This elucidates one potentially strong source of bias in vaccination studies. The first to line up for voluntary vaccination are likely healthier and higher in socioeconomic status.

Really interesting question. To me the price of software is all over the place these days. Some things are unexpectedly cheap (like Netflix, as you say), others struggle to provide value on par with their price (except to a narrow niche,

Except you already paid more to get the M1 Max, too, the upgrade to 64 is not available on any other models.

Yeah, especially if it could run Linux. This would be a powerful little server. I decked out my workstation with a 16 core Ryzen & 96GB RAM and it didn't cost anywhere near the price of this new 64GB M1 Max combo. (But it may ver

Thanks for posting. Does this new database support SQL? I saw a few mentions but not sure if it was explicitly stated It sounds like the bottleneck is going to be the transaction controller in each node, which has to serialize the processin

The way the govt did these codes was ridiculous. Many retailers put them behind a glossy protective plastic, and they are so hard to scan and really slow things down unnecessarily. I guess they were rolled out quickly or by someone inexpe

Worth adding that KeyDB forked redis and added multithreading support, so that gives another option for scaling up redis.

Would it make sense to put the batteries on the Australian end or the Singapore end? I imaged the Singapore end where it as able to respond quickly to load as well as provide a buffer for cable faults/maintenance

They need an additional column to track which type of battery (lithium-nickel vs Lithium iron phosphate) as I believe the latter is beginning to ship in some models?
