Maximizing autonomy is a well-regarded technique, but I wonder what the downsides are, and whether it's still worth it anyway?

- robertohanas 5y agoI would love to see autonomy as a solution but I've seen friends dig themselves deeper and deeper because of said freedom to do as much as they want. According to Border theory and self-regulation theory people are: Border Enforcers(Have strict boundaries between live and work), Border Adapters(Can adapt if a border is crossed ex an emergency), or Border Expanders (It's hard for them to delimit where one border ends and another starts) I see how Maximising autonomy could work for Border enforcers but it can cause real damage to Border Expanders.
