I searched the interwebs for what 'lufting' is and found nada. The term is luffing for anyone who wants to look further into these things (as I do/did).

Aquasnap for Windows users has been great (it's a tiling window manager). Worth the ~30USD.

I've been wanting to post an Ask HN on this: What's to stop us from going back to steel, paper and glass? You know, packaging we can actually recycle.

It's a next level certification - to achieve that rating you have to prove mastery of techniques and skills not examined in the requirements for a Private Pilot license.

Well, imprecise language really is key here - because a pilot with a turbojet rating is, de facto, a better pilot than one who's flying a single engine piston plane. Words matter.

I would give a limb to own a real Tempest arcade console. I cannot fathom how many quarters of mine the local box ate when I was a kid. To me, it was the best gameplay and graphics of the era. The vibrancy of the color vector graphics mad

Fluff like this makes the source look more and more out of touch; at what point does a think tank become it's own version of 'The Onion'?

California already implemented that separately. Los Angeles Unified district opened the fall term enforcing the prohibition; the statewide mandate begins 2025.

I work regularly in PowerShell and this bugged tf out of me. The result of my digging was: .NET libraries emit textual output in <whatever the offending encoding was, UTF-16 LE or something> -- and since PowerShell is implemented in .

So, you don't think quality journalism is worth paying for, upfront, direct to the creators, but rather through a proxy system based around advertising Correct me if I'm wrong about that <shrug>.

The theory is correct, but the example is not the best: petrol prices are not as elastic as you'd think. If I need to make a left turn across traffic or go around the block I'm not topping off at a station just for 5 cents/ga
