I haven't set up two-factor auth yet because I don't always have my phone handy and my understanding of it is that on each log-in you need to use both factors. My comments below are based on this understanding so forgive me if I'm wrong. Wh

Brilliant! My company had a short spell in the very early 90's where we dabbled in 3D product visualization for clients with 3D Studio on DOS. At the time we were writing add-ons and engineering tools for Autodesk products and exploring ot

Being from Canada, I for one welcome our new plastic overlords. I'm curious about the actual hand feel but the durability will certainly be welcome. Also curious to see how these affect counting machines, etc. I do a lot of work at large

I think the HN title of this post is misleading to the actual article content. The HN title here implies that the women in tech are apologizing, when she is actually saying to men "Please stop apologizing for other offensive males in tech,

I still don't see gesture based control as the 'future of computing'. I think it can have wide applications in gaming (already does) and as this shows, presentation, or perhaps short interactions with a home control system as you walk thro

When I evaluate a portfolio attached to a resume this one of the first things I check for of there is a form in the portfolio. If the developer hasn't done it that is a big strike right there. I was on a site the other day, I can't remembe

Adding another comment after my one below. I couldn't get the record button (just a keyboard button) and thought it might be because I am in Canada. To test I remoted into our server in Texas and opened the doodle from there... presto, a

I have concerns about this. While it is a neat concept and the implementation is impressive, the reality may be problematic. A lot of users may not have the dexterity to accomplish this task with a pointing device, like my Mother. Not to

To me this is just one of the early cases of what will become an inevitable trend. Not just to avoid Apple licensing policies but also to target multiple platforms with one app. HTML5 is rapidly hitting a tipping point that allows for mor

I have to comment that I completely agree with not being able to interact with notifications without unlocking the phone. The idea of a screen lock (aside from phone security for some) is to prevent accidental interactions in your pocket.

I am going to make this comment and it might be unpopular but it is definitely not meant to be a slag against iOS. I am noticing that a lot of the new iOS features are "missing features" from other mobile OSs... and since I'm really only

Couldn't agree more. I was also in the thick of things when .NET came out. We had a large established base of apps on the pre-existing versions of Visual Studio. The whole migration nightmare/uproar to .NET is still fresh in my mind and
