Considering it was government contracting, it was as good as it was going to get. The offer I got was from a near-tech company.

I've had 2 previous companies do something similar. Team of 5 or so develop a product. It's realeased and they move / layoff all but one or two devs including me. I get overburdened; ask for a raise. The first company that di

On a couple occasions, Google Maps kept suggesting and autoselecting a "shorter" route. Upon selecting it, though, my ETA increased by 40 minutes instead of dropping like it said it would. I kept having to dismiss it until the &qu

That only works if most other vehicles weigh substantially less, which they don't. Suburban vs Smart Car, sure, you "just" kill all the occupants of the smart car, and get some whiplash since you don't have headrest and

I'm inclined to agree. They could enforce many more laws with automation, today. Car has distance sensors for cruise control? Monitor and report following distance. Speeding. Changing lanes without signaling. Etc.

There was a microwave at a job that would, of course, beep when you pressed a button or the timer was done. But also when you opened or closed the door. Had a electric kettle that also beeped. I removed the piezo buzzer.

I still think Win95 is peak U , but it's what I grew up with, so that's probably expected. Minus some of the non-resizable windows, some newer UI elements that are clearly better, etc. I still run "it" via XFCE and Arch
