He ran virtually unopposed in those primaries and many people sat them out, so I don't think anyone takes those victories as a strong signal. It's become clear through recent polls that he lost the support of many of his party

"Broad dataset" is generous. More of a fairly vague summary of a private dataset.

Can anyone reasonably take this report as quality evidence? Even the primary source[1] has no information on the survey design or composition beyond the fact that they sampled ~30,000 people globally . No mention of how the responses were

This is just throwing out the baby with the bath water. You really think the proportion of "frauds" is the same among doctors and among holistic healers?

Your link suggests this is largely to remove red tape while working in Russia. It does not answer how many are settling long-term. There is of course also this little complication: > Anecdotal evidence suggests that recent recipients of

From the post: > In 2014, Tajikistan was the most-remittance based economy on earth, amounting to almost half of its GDP. The countryside is dotted with half-finished concrete homes which I was told were the long-term retirement plans of

I am baffled by this argument. What point are you trying to make? The energy is still being used, just at slightly different times.

That book doesn't even rise to the level of "theory." Just drivel from a notorious climate denier.

I meant the original Climate Pulse link. You do not see a trend and do not believe we will see more frequent and intense droughts, and therefore wildfires, due to climate change?

Are you going to ignore the worst wildfires, which were associated with terrible drought: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2023_Canadian_drought ? Last year wasn't as bad in the US, but which way do you think the tren

This argument doesn't hold water for the scope of the fires we saw last summer. Are you really going to discount the extreme drought conditions and the fact that many of these fires started in areas that have long been uninhabited?

Unscathed? We just had the warmest summer on record in North America and a record-breaking wildfire season that blanketed huge swaths of the US and Canada in smoke, just to name two effects that come to mind. Clearly we'll just sail th

This is so bizarrely flippant. We are seeing massive declines in bird populations. It is not just a matter of a few variations going extinct and new types of birds magically appearing within our lifetimes.

What numbers are you looking at? There was a further decrease in the rate when COVID began, then a slight rebound from those depressed levels. The decline continued this year. Small fluctuations don't contradict a general trend.

Your 1% number is simply pulled out of thin air. A quick search suggests 10% of households do not own a car. How many of the remainder own one because there is simply no alternative in much of the country in order to access work and groceri
