It's quite tiring to see people abusing the Flag link when they don't want some news seen by others. I wonder if it's the same group of people doing so over and over.

Similar experience here. Did a comparison of a bunch of statistical tools (R, Matlab, Julia, Python, etc.) on small-ish datasets. Used the latest versions in all cases, in Windows 10. All but Julia ran the regressions in <1s, while Julia

Well we are getting slightly above the target no? And some say that once we overshoot and target expectations too high, taming them might be hard.

Silly question, but what does he mean by the iOS lock-in? I have both an Android (personal) and iphone (work) and don't find anything particularly appealing about the iphone wrt to a much much cheaper Huawei (besides a faster camera)

You can't really raise short term rates while increasing money supply. I'm certainly not going to dispute your point about bank profits, but what you are suggesting has been tried in the past many many times in many countries, and

You just pay it as transfer pricing. Eg an expense of $100m for "brand licencing fees". You give me the trademark to the subsidiary in the less taxed place, and done.

Not sure if you are aware, but matching competitor prices is actually anti-consumer. It's counterintuitive but it means that your competitors won't lower the price on the first place. Kinda like implicit price fixing.

It's much easier to be an autocrat if people support you and don't realize what you are doing. Happened to us in Peru with Fujimori [1]. Elected a guy that promised to be tough on crime and actually get things done. He did lots
