For me, the biggest change between high school and college was honestly just being able to wake up at 8 AM instead of 6-something. Suddenly my recurring insomnia, and my tendency to just flat-out fall asleep during afternoon classes, were

"Don't buy generic electrical goods from East Asia" is pretty good advice in general, given that some people have been literally electrocuted by faulty low-cost equipment sourced from the region.

Stow also goes nicely with managing a directory in Dropbox for syncing game saves, app config data, etc, for apps that don't have any native support for cross-machine syncing but still work well enough when you fake it with symlinks.

So far it's pretty limited selection and mostly focused on media creation or game development, though there a (very small) handful of other apps included.

That seems anecdotally accurate to me. It's not hard to find "spiritual sequel" Mac and iOS apps that do quite well as people switch to them from older apps that are lacking in development or aren't as "cool" a

Agreed. To me the explanations as to how this kind of forfeiture work just feel like absurd doublespeak to try and claim that the Fourth and Fifth somehow don't apply.

As of late Apple seems to do better at this by using a variety of different domain names (apparently pulled from their secondary 'we don't want somebody else using our product names' set, since they include ones like 'ib

This in the latest of a long string of security breaches makes me very happy that Apple is moving forward on tokenized payment systems and hopefully dragging many other companies along with it.

This could be really nice for hobbyist usage for tabletop RPGs, but to fully fit that niche it really needs (a) anonymous sharing (with a read-only mode), and (b) a way to copy a shared 'app' to your own account.

This would be a godsend in Europe, where to American sensibilities it often feels like you have to have a flashing light and sirens to get someone, anyone, to show up and give you the bill after you're done your meal.
