I’m genuinely curious what your view on the unrealized potential is! I would love something new to hack on.

Regardless of your argument and I do mostly agree with it, I do think that most things referred to “Luxury Goods” are, in fact, the ”high-margin doodads” you are referring to. At least colloquially, things like Chanel perfume and Luis Vuit

IIRC it’s just the macOS GUI client that’s closed source? I are the CLI client (CLIent?) compiled from source. EDIT: yep, referenced in your link! They have a very clear page[0] describing what is and isn’t open source. [0] https:/&#x

This is awesome, can’t wait to try out these techniques. At least a week a year of my time for the past few years has gone towards recovering from a fault crashing a training run. Sometimes environment related, sometimes shared storage, som

I can’t produce a website that is half as endearing and fun as my 8yo self’s first attempt around y2k after earnestly reading my dad’s copy of “HTML For the World Wide Web” by Elizabeth Castro. The excitement of page counters, discovering C

I’m sure the Lattice open source situation is driving sales in a more than substantial way. I’ve definitely spent >2k in the past five years on lattice boards and chips (not counting used or otherwise aftermarket). Most people I’ve met w

I prefer SOM, or better yet a good SBC. In all seriousness, as annoying as it is, I’ve been through it so many times now (not as the guy managing the process! That is some serious work I thankfully have not yet had to lead). At this point,

I used a flip phone for a ~week a couple months ago, I was amazed how fast T9 came back. Felt like riding a bike. I remember having a flip phone with a broken screen for a short while in the mid noughties, and being able to still make call

What's up with the formatting in this paper? Though honestly, I can't even be mad about it. I actually find it kind of funny that it's been sitting on the front page this long and getting so many comments. Sure, the author cl

In my personal social circle, it's but faux pas to even take out your phone during a discussion, without a statement why. Not explicitly a rule, it just kinda evolved that way. “Ok, I need to know, I’m gonna check wiki” is enough, and

For sure. I would like to point out for readers to think about the fact that if you are, say, a guy in your 30s, the women close to you getting breast cancer will also have a profound impact on your life. Likely a greater one than dying of

I’m sure I don’t understand what you’re saying! Could you explain? I’m not being facetious, either. I’m not sure how posting this to the parent would have made any sense.

Where in my comment do I even mention men? I was responding to a hateful comment from a person, not an entire gender. Also, I guess I didn’t state my gender anywhere (I did not think it would be so relevant! Apologies for not realizing this

I advise people to at least consider the “years of life lost” approach to thinking about this [0] Prostate cancer and breast cancer suck. All cancer sucks, it’s a blight on civilization. Don’t pit diseases against each other like that. They
