Will it be down for 10 days again? Who knows. Would've stopped using it after the first 10 day outage anyway.

I love it, and we wont learn from this again :-) Looking forward for the 3rd outage in a few weeks.

Didn't think I'd ever read about a neighboring city of mine on HN. We're also the state that piloted using open source software for public offices in case that's interesting to someone. Yes, Germany goes further up north

Yea all that is neat if all that data wouldn't be collected and sold by all these big tech companies.

As long as quietly making stuff pays off, sure. If I get a bigger paycheck just from being known by the higher ups I'll go for the popularity contest. People work to feed themselves and their families after all and considering how unet

φ^* ω is just 2 weird symbols. There are tons of symbols to learn. I gave up trying to learn the Russian alphabet after a few days so why do u think I am capable of memorizing the Greek one? The theories are learnable, making sense of all t

All the big tech companies are in the news every week. Everybody knows how bad they are. Their names are tarnished and yet everyone is still using their junk and they face zero repercussions when fucking up. I dont think things in the media

I'd love getting rid of all the weird symbols in favor of clear text functions or whatever. As someone who never learnt all the weird symbols its really preventing me from getting into math again... It is just not intuitive.

Yes. The exact opposite is happening though. We turned from capitalism into late stage capitalism. We feed into the AI hype that's built upon the thievery of creative work while promising corporate leaders to let go off their employees

Yea that's a shame really... Creativity was one of the only things that made me enjoy my everyday life. I just do everything offline now. Sucks to not being able to discover new music as easily anymore though.

Sorry, but its quite the opposite. Its dystopia considering only the already rich really benefit from it.

We suffer from billionaires hoarding money and companies creating an unfair market. Tell me what's the need for billionaires? Even having 100m is enough to feed a few generations of your family, isn't that enough?

Yea agree, the job market isn't difficult due to AI. Its difficult because big tech overhired massively for years, making it seem like there was demand for this many developers. Turns out if a field is somewhat saturated and the big te

I am the worst example to ask this. I regularly go rogue or work on private shit during work. As long as there isn't any pressing work to do I force the balance I need. Perks of working alone I guess.

It 100% can do that. LLMs are trained on an unfathomable amount of data. Every AoC puzzle can be solved by identifying the algorithm behind it. Its Leetcode in a friendlier and more festive spirit.
