That explains why the author is not known, and why the whole point is that you will get fired if taxes increase. I don't find that threat credible. If the guy wants to retire, he will sell his company, not shut it down. Even if it's unprofi

I was puzzled by his claim that pooswa is french for pussy. It sounds more like good evening with a very strong german accent. I guess the slang meaning implies that you're a pussy when you say good evening in french, and what I took for a

I discovered the fountainhead last year and I found it fascinating although it becomes more and more awkward as you progress. At the end it seemed to me like a journey into a sick mind, which makes it all the more interesting. I would recom

The raphael library he writes about looks interesting, it uses vml for internet explorer and svg elsewhere. I had never heard about vml. According to wikipedia it is used by google maps as a replacement for svg in ie. That surprised me too:

There would be something very wrong if every baseball team managed to lose every match. But the value of baseball comes from entertaining, not from winning, so I'd rather put it this way: There would be something very wrong if you would sud

There is a similarity between a ponzi scheme and the bubble created by the financial system: it works only as long as you find fools to trust it, and the last one to get out loses.

I had a lot of 'business management' lessons when I studied economics. Most of them were so full of emptiness that I came to think that most of a business degree is part of faking it, a kind of symbolic ritual. (There were however a minorit

My religion changes after work. That makes me think of the jews who live in Saudi Arabia and know enough of the Coran to pass as muslims. Java would be islam then. No wonder it sounds indonesian.

Latent semantic analysis can be used to measure the similarity of two documents. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Latent_semantic_analysis I found examples in ruby and python in this blog, which is unfortunately down just at the moment http:

I wouldn't call it 'comfort with meaninglessness' but rather 'ability to find meaning'. Those who succeeded were the ones who came up with a theory about how things could work and then applied their theory consistently. The problems must ha

That's interesting. Could you be more specific about the numbers? Are these workdays? This would be the equivalent of 5 months. Or are they calendar days, which make it a little more than 3 months? Do they have to take the break after 12 mo

People can also be bent. I saw a documentary the other day where neurologists explained that much of our perception of the world is a construction of our brain, that's why it can easily be tricked by illusions. One of them concluded that si
