Yes, it's absolutely better to crash if you're in an unexpected state. I had to deal with a service once which had a top-level exception handler that ensured that all exceptions would simply log and let the service keep running. T

They are talking about adding that kind of scrolling using JS as demonstrated in the alternate version of the page that they link to. I don't understand why anyone would think it's needed though when scrolling already works like t

Jeez that's crazy. I wonder if teachers at your daughter's school are in conflict over the strategy to use so they decided to use a hybrid approach to make both sides equally unhappy. I really hope that everything other than phoni

Is 3-cueing even being used anymore? It seems decently well known that it's garbage that hurts students.

That Python 2 crap hit me as well when working on an older project. It used node-sass which depended on node-gyp. Dealing with upgrading that was a pain because I had to upgrade so much more to get versions of everything that played nice to

I was hoping they'd do a complete remake of 1 & 2 in the WC3 engine. Modernize the gameplay and have them run with what is now the canonical storyline. Realistically I knew it wasn't going to happen and I'm perfectly fine

The better thing is the original: psuedoephedrine. It was never impossible to buy, it just required going to the pharmacy counter and showing ID. I knew about this when it happened in the 2000's because my dad needed Sudafed often, but

The error handling is one of the worst parts of Go for me. Every call that can fail ends up being followed by 3 lines of error handling even if it's just propagating the error up. The actual logic get drowned out.

If I were a betting man I'd wager that switches like that are purely due to inflation. Shit's too expensive and people think that changing the party they vote into the seat of the presidency is going to change that.

It's best to assume that any directory which holds temporary files for applications will be cleaned up at any time. The whole point of those directories is to hold things that need to exist somewhere but are ephemeral.

TOFU is a pretty bad trust model. Even with SSH you're supposed to validate the fingerprint with some already known trusted source. Otherwise you're just assuming that the first time you connect you aren't being MITMed.
