I guess I'm the first person to say that yes, I did cheat, and no, I don't feel guilty. What matters is getting the right answer. If you stop before you get the right answer, then you're responsible for that. If you take a shortcut to get t

Then you'd probably have a good $8. We're in a tech renaissance. Lots of cool stuff is coming out, and they're all doing things in really different ways. It makes perfect sense that the game is constantly changing. It's exciting!

But Mibbit appeals to a very niche technical community. Gmail's market share is less than 20%, if I recall correctly. A lot of people using IE right now are either forced to use it for corporate purposes - my mother has to use it on her lap

That's a stupid argument. Would people stop using Gmail if it refused to work for IE6/7/8? Yes. They would stop instantly. Where the hell did Bing come in? Some people use Google Search and Hotmail. You're not locked into a company. Further

It's difficult because Google needs to compromise themselves enough to work for the IE majority. If they break too much then people won't get Chrome. They'll stop using Google.

What's so bad about companies not bullshitting? If Microsoft said "We think HTML5 isn't worth our time, and we won't lift a finger until we see it picking up," I'd like them a lot more than when they make empty claims. That way, when they a

The headers I agree with, but big images look pretty, and I can't think of anything that would work better beyond the blank white that Google's made its visual trademark. Live half-assed between the two options, which I hated.

Did you paste ads in every single Wave mention? Because it's really annoying, and not the right way to appeal to a bunch of cynical hacker sorts.

Google Wave actually looks nothing like your product whatsoever. We already have real-time updates. What we don't have is a system where every sort of update is treated in a single place. That's what Wave is. If you want to advertise Browse

The iPhone is known by every person who uses tech devices. Everybody who knows about it knows it's touch-based. I'd bet that most people who know about it have had a chance to fiddle around with it, since they've sold 17 million phones and

It's not quite criticism. It's pointing out that touch screens are mainstream. My immediate family alone has three. That's mainstream. Touch was a huge deal in 2006.

Very frequently, because I can't be arsed to join in most conversations. I actually try to post more when I don't expect my post to result in a debate, because I've learned that nothing good comes out of online debate.

You are about as wrong as anybody can get about anything. The Wire is an outright masterpiece. I can't see how you'd find it to be "cheap". It's got probably the most brilliantly characterized people I've seen on any screen. I'd understand

It's curious that this sort of game design is exactly the sort that's getting railed against in the progressive game design community. Fellows like Jonathan Blow and Jason Rohrer argue quite convincingly that games' focusing on artificial r
