There are _some_ containers that are security mechanism. Docker is definitely not one of them. But LXD for example uses unprivileged containers by default and can be hardened with additional software for syscall filtering

Not to defend CPP-copy-paste, but MIPS has always been an open architecture (it is even open source now, you can get CPU verilog code from them). They did however hold some important patents that they used against others back in the 90s. Th

I am all for being sceptical to corporate PR, but Nvidia and AMD have already proven that AI can be applied with excellent results. How it's done is a business secret, I would be surprised if they told us much more.

If that happens, it's probably by design and a good sign that you should find a better app.

Was reading this with an odd sense of deja vu. Then it hit me: If we ignore the odd choice of 3 & 5 bit fields, this is very similar to ASN.1

Summary: 1. Don't panic! 2. Our use of user IP is fair use (geographic load balancing), and we delete them within hours. (3. This ruling is partially due to Google's horrible track record, and we are not Google)

As someone who has been enjoying 3-5 day battery life, i am fine with Samsung killing background apps. And they have a system for whitelisting apps. Also, totally not relevant to the article.

You don't need that when Tesla (accidentally) does this themselves. True story, had to manually fix vehicles (using SSH)

Short answer: no. Long answer: I use NewPipe exclusively to watch development videos and it keeps recommending antivaax & alt-right propaganda as related videos.

Having followed SerenityOS for some weeks, I now believe C++ is doing fine. Also, that cookie pop-up on WordPress gave me cancer.

How is this any different from the normal state of affairs? You think you work too much and are paid too little? Then leave, this has nothing to do with "equal pay".

Teams is the only one that works reasonably well in different browsers and also has a decent official Linux client. In my experience, Zoom is the one that always causes issues for people. Not to mention that it has had tons of security issu

I wonder if Apple sees use of android enough to fire them? After all, this is a company that will reject your app submission if the app mentions "android" anywhere: https://www.theregister.com/2010/02/05&

The initial text could be a misunderstanding or just an unfortunate choice of words. But the reviewer doubled down and went political 8n his response, showing that this was not really the case. I would probably have let it rest at this poin

Was that initial review written by an AI? Seriously, the text is grammatically correct but beyond that it is all nonsense. Update: a friend submitted a paper to a related sigcomm conference in 2021 and the reviews were extremely unhelpful

You are correct that this too must be addressed, but there are some issues you are ignoring here: 1. Consoles have traditionally been sold at a loss with the assumption that game sales will make up for our. 2. Console makers do not try to c
