Sure webkit is multi-process but how many perf critical threads do you think there are for rendering the single page that user is viewing?

Because most CPU bound tasks (especially in consumer space) are single thread limited.

SMT isn't that really is it? SMT allows for concurrent execution of both threads (thus independent front-end for fetch, decode especially) and certain core resources are statically partitioned unlike a warp being scheduled on SM. I

The packaging in this context is not wire bonding but CoWoS - chip-wafer and wafer-wafer bonding.

I'm betting for a large part of the WFH crowd - commute and home prices (near the offices) are the biggest sticking points.

Meanwhile zoom runs perfectly fine on vision pro. imo, Meta should ditch metaverse and focus on gaming/media/productivity for the headset and leave the social aspects to their rayban-kind devices.

The artificial limit does not have to be political, it can be as simple as nvidia blowing fuses to reduce compute on lower tier cards.

Different markets, similar semantics. Both are artificially supply restricted. Infact you can argue that something is really wrong in our governance if housing is human right and yet there are people profiteering from how unaffordable it ha

There are investors lined up around the block to hand over $$$$$ for SFHs on the market while people delay family making because they cannot afford housing or end up on the streets. So, is the market really absurd? Just because some billion

You can theorize a million scenarios, but clearly no one here will know what really transpired for Nvidia to hobble their consumer chips. I really don't think consumer is loss leading, GPUs for AI is a fairly recent market while Nvidia

Or the 90% are charged absurd markup because clearly they can deliver the hardware for 10% use-case for 1000$ and still make money on top but they would rather charge the data centers 50k for the same product

It’s probably that they don’t want to risk leak any internal discussion. The information from the public "tracker" is just forwarded to the internal Radar and that's a one-way street.

Would definitely pay more to avoid FSD pilots, because the texters sense their surroundings more often than the drivers lulled by false advertisement and (at-best) beta grade software. The snarky posters can stay, doesn't hurt my life

model3 is a mid-size sedan much like mazda3; even the marketing depts agree, but sure whatever makes you happy. 2024 Tesla Model S: 4,560 to 4,776 lbs

2024 Mazda3 Sedan: 3,124 to 3,395 lbs 2024 Tesla Model3: 3,862 to 4,054 lbs That's 20% heavier, and it gets worse when you look at EVs not built from ground up by legacy manufacturers.

There’s quick ICE cars too, but they don’t weigh as much as the 100 or so kWh battery pack in EVs

It’s about the weight of the vehicle; aggressive driving just makes it even worse. EVs are generally quite heavier compared to similar class of ICE vehicles.

Nvidia is more likely to become CSCO or INTC but as far as I can tell, that's still a few years off - unless ofcourse there is weakness in broader economy that accelerates the pressure on investors.
