Actually, you need to be advocating for immigration: * More founders so they can employ you. * More engineers onsite so they are in the same boat/market as you, i.e. need similar or more income. Otherwise, they will "steal" y

Do they still use 0-terminated strings/char* as the main string type? Is the usage of single linked lists still prevalent as the main container type?

No. Just Qt Company hides this as much as they can.

You are not required to distribute those along with your app. You can just have them available for download separately if anyone needs it. LGPL requirement is the ability of the end user to relink (not recompile) the executable.

AFAIK such books are not directly profitable anyway. It's about getting recognized and subsequent gigs/clients/employment opportunities for authors.

Are the any "fronty" back-end (or straight client/desktop) jobs using Go? i.e. I'd like to use Go on the job but all I see is AWS/Kubernetes/mix-of-DevOps kind of positions.

Ebook pricing is broken. Sell it for $0.99 and you'll get buyers. You can't sell ebooks when it costs only 5-10% less than a dead-tree hardcover variant. People don't like being ripped off.

Siemens, Philips use .NET. Although, I believe it is mostly due to their partnership with Microsoft rather than the technical side of things.

Why not? People make a living from Amazon affiliation websites. Don't the flight companies have the similar programs?

> I put quite some effort in my applications That's your mistake. It's a numbers game. Minimize the time you spend per application and apply to hundreds of positions. You just need to find only the one.

Or just use Qt Widgets? Yes, the default sizes and styling might not be suitable but these are easily and fully customizable. The one disadvantage is that Widgets is not hardware accelerated.

Yes, usually GC vs non-GC discussion is actually about deterministic vs non-deterministic memory management. Swift's ref-counting is deterministic.
