The issue that is often overlooked is the value of the down payment. Say your home is $100,000(i know, i know lol). Your 20% down payment is $20,000. You have to factor in the interest that $20,000 would generate in say index funds or whate

To give another perspective... I drink about 3 cups of coffee a day. When I quit cold turkey I have a headache so bad I can't do anything at all for 3 days or so, and on day 2 I am bedridden with flu like symptoms(ive tried quitting mu

Isn't this exactly why your investment portfolio needs to change with age? STONKS can only go up if you're 30 and don't plan to touch the money for 35 years, this is basically a fact(I'm just a SWE not a financial adviso

It's because of the 2 party system we are stuck with. Democratic Socialists, Social Liberals, NeoLibs, and NeoCons(because of the Republican party's shift to the right) are all stuck under one party, so the biggest group controls

For comparison I make mid 70s as a mid level dev in a medium cost of living area of the US. I feel that very often when Europe compares itself to the US on this, they only look at the super HCOL areas like SV, Seattle, NYC. I feel like we a

I agree with you completely. I'm a mid level right now and I can get 4x more work done than my junior can, and my senior can do 2x more work than me in a day.

I feel the same way. I've been a dev for a few years now, make 150% of the median household income in my area by myself. Even once I finish my student loan payments I will be in the same position as you. I live in a Medium cost of livi

I really don't believe this is true. I was spanked my whole childhood. It never taught me one single thing, because I just wanted to know "why" X was bad and I was never told. It was no more effective than just telling me no.

I could be wrong, but I think that's after just one dose. The pfizer vax requires 2 doses for it's full effect.

You do realize that these events must be compared to the natural rate of these events, right? There will be people who die the day after their vaccine, because they are old and fat and will have a heart attack. There will be people who die

You're totally correct. In the USA the Biden admin is setting up mass vax sites that currently aren't running(so i expect they will make an impact) and they're promising they can speed up by 50% more. Also for what it's

If you live in the USA/UK/EU/CA you will probably be vaccinated by the end of the summer as far as I can tell. (I am an amateur not a doctor)

While this is true, I think you're forgetting about all of the ways men could be injured that don't involve actively protecting women. Need to muscle some livestock? Probably mans job. Need to cut trees? Probably mans job. Need to

The issue with this is that it's the SECOND shot that gives you your long term immunity. If you only get one shot your immunity is allegedly going to wane somewhat quickly. edit: for pfizer & moderna.

Don't tell him that. He's willing to get any vaccine at all and the world desperately needs to be vaxxed. If people want to take adenovirus vaxs because they feel its safer I say just let them.

I think the simple answer is to look at how many Euro countries pull off having good universities for low cost... and copy them. No need to reinvent what has already been done. Just need to "port" it to America.
