The dirty secret is that many of these "fees" are actually from the venues and performers. TicketMaster and others are actually taking the heat as the bad guys on behalf of the venues and performers. We hate on TicketMaster and we can put t

I remember reading about this hack in 2003 wondering if there was any other variations of Linux than just "GNU/Linux". I always hated the term "GNU/Linux" and was looking for an excuse to generalize the name to just "Linux" and win a silly

With the upcoming campaign, I think they may want to close any potential finger pointing with "proof" by the other side that they are not doing what the people want. The fact that it's on the President's site makes it an easy target for the

Coincidentally I did some TI-83/84 hacking my self and went to go work for TI after school in the education/productivity group on that same calculator line. I knew of the secret fortres screen but didn't know there was any keygens out there

You could but it didn't get you very far. Explorer uses the same shell as everything else so it was hacked as well.

I remember in high school, the computers where running windows 95. They used this shell hacking "protection" software called Fortress. It worked by hiding buttons and menus and trying to prevent you from opening up various apps or clicking

I don't care about the YouTube app as long as embedded flash youtube videos are still redirected to the embedded plugin. In Mountain Lion, there is now a share button that goes to Vimeo but there is no YouTube option. This equals the playin

I can tell you, as a developer on Growl, being in the top 100 paid app list at $2.99 is not going to be like being in the top 100 paid apps on iOS by a extremely huge margin. Growl retails at $1.99. We are always around the top 20 paid apps

That's a really poor metaphor. It's more a like a nuclear arms race. We focus on mutually assured destruction if you come after us. Keeps the checks and balances in place and stops random invaders and gets us respect. The problem we face is

I think it was more problem of iterative design and having to pull out features before release. I think the Q does a lot more but Google wanted to ship by Google IO and would improve it with later software updates.
