That's even more non-sensical. The only problem with the original sentence was the comma.

The samples are only there to give one an idea of how one would access GTK from within certain languages — or maybe how easy, painless (?) it can be to use. It is expected that one would know how to properly add dependencies — and if they d

As for 1, I imagine it's because Apple doesn't want the destructive actions front-and-centre. Not only that, but macOS has always encouraged/preferred the drag-and-drop pattern for file management — it might be something with

Not really. The way that people use this live stream is often via YouTube integration with other services rather than via YouTube directly.

I’m not South African, my husband is. I picked it up from him. We use it around our home quite a bit. I was replying to a South African. Whilst talking about South Africa. I'm fairly sure nobody's upset about it, more intrigued.

When you see the inequality in South Africa, when even people working good jobs still get paid only in single digits (which in Rands comes to /nothing/), where things cost so damn much — you might have a slightly more sympathetic

Are they still having the rolling brown-outs in Cape Town? My hubby's family were getting a bit gatvol of those a while back, telling everybody here in New Zealand all about it.

I'm glad I'm not the only one struck by how bizarre those seemed as headline features. Compare to other toolkits (I'll use macOS) where automatically transitioning between windows and tabs is a standard feature of the GUI too

I was always a KDE 3 kinda guy. I tried TDE, which is to KDE 3 as Mate is to GNOME 2, and … boy, you really appreciate how the Mate project managed to keep everything good about GNOME 2 but modernise at the same time.

I'm actually more interested in an explication for the mindset behind this comment's condescending tone. It's a fair enough comment to make — the notion that mass adoption comes by catering to the masses is not one that shoul

It is entirely possible to put your point across without being rude; that’s sort of how things are done on HN. We’re all disappointed about something or other, but we still maintain a basic level of courtesy in our posts on this site.
