These two incidents are really nothing alike. I am a guy in a tech field surrounded by other guys and I imagine it would be very intimidating for a female colleague to be around us. It would take a lot more than this comment box to go into

It's a but amusing how this coincides with the iOS7 unveiling but the new logo has been in the works for quite a while. The original motivation was for how it would look on a smaller scale for FFOS devices. I was there for the presenta

This reminds me of the comment PG made about people with the most negative rebuttal to the argument getting up-voted. The argument wasn't entirely about how you perceive math and more about being socially accepted, even proud, of being able

It reads that way a little but as a front-end dev I've had sit-downs with a few founders trying to hire me and in some cases I thought their ideas were stupid. It didn't seem like they wanted my opinion on their idea as much as they wanted

There is an official marketplace offering from Mozilla: http://marketplace.firefox.com but others are free to implement their own and no one has to use the official one. The apps will run on both the OS and Firefox for Android, Firefox De

As someone already mentioned these end-user surveys seem to be closer to popularity contests. I have no doubt MS, Google, Apple etc are astronomically more popular than Mozilla and will rank higher based on name recognition. These results p

The parts that matter are quite well run but the marketing side of things could apparently use some polish. For what it's worth this is simply a dev phone announcement and not meant to be a consumer device announcement. I am quite excited f

I get the core of your argument but we put humans in these positions of power because we believe they are able to use a non-scripted judgement in determining which cases deserve attention. On a broader note I believe the way the law was wri

This is a truly great experiment since it revisits something we've typically considered "solved". The current experience behaves a bit "jaggy" and slow but the core idea behind this is fantastic. I would love to see where further iterations

I am with you on this one...even hardware manufacturers are promising a free upgrade to win8 as an incentive to buy now. I imagine the same is similar for the phones they are selling.

I absolutely agree but I am guessing a price tag of $300 which wouldn't quite achieve keeping the competition at bay.

For what it's worth I am hoping the 10 people with Windows tablets won't miss it too much. Then again it's possible MS could gain some serious traction in "enterprise" active-directory heavy environments. Apologies for the off-topic rant.

WebOS was targeted as an Android/iOS alternative on higher-end devices using proprietary APIs. It was also being developed by a company with shareholders who were purely focused on the bottom line. I am not trying to criticize them but ther

Yes but if your small business only does $60k in CC transactions it's likely on its last legs to begin with. You would need more to cover your expenses also...unless your business is very cash-heavy. At $200k in transactions that $3300 year
