The results would be meaningful but not as interesting as someone who is under more pressure to find a job due to currently being jobless. Speaking for myself interviews are always much easier when you already have a job and always more dif

There's a startup somewhere in this idea. I'd pay to be a spectator of this match.

Without going into the ethics or the police action I am guessing that BART paid a sizable sum to get the website done by a company that can't protect against SQL injections. This reminds me of my building's condo board paying 30k for a "com

The comments to this can almost be titled "Strategies for Effective Leadership". Whether I agree with all of them or not the discussion is quite thought-provoking and makes me wonder what lessons can be learned to apply at my current compan

Have to agree on the horrible link-bait title. The article itself talks about another person's rebuttal on Marco's earlier post. Now if you'll excuse me I am writing a nutrition guide titled "Why You Shouldn't Invest in Higher Education".

I've heard nothing but good things about it but the actual "maxcode" framework that was in place is just an XML front-end abstraction (custom tags and loop/conditional logic in templates). There are far superior templating solutions out rig

Nice post. Remnants of "maxcode" still creep up in our daily work so Max's name is well recognized at PayPal to this day.

It's a shame the term "enterprise" is used as an excuse for poor quality. This isn't an attack on you I see it where I work too. Companies like Apple, Blizzard, and surely others have shown being big doesn't have to impede quality and user

Pretty funny but I would have to agree these systems are likely meant as a self contained warning appliance and are not powered by a database. The more interesting question is whether YOU would've thought to sanitize license plate input?

Intermediate level front-end web developers are costly due to high demand and the work is arguably more difficult. I agree the $150 might be great for someone offshore though. In any case I like the idea behind the $15 blind design since de

The body scanners are supported 81% by one poll and 65% by another. For what it's worth it seems fear mongering has worked wonders. Want to disagree with me? I'll call you unpatriotic.

While I don't disagree with the author's points of discussion I do disagree with the tone and attempt at humor. Sometimes even if you do have something valid to say your words won't be sweeter by sitting on a bee hive.

I am an experienced UI developer and while I agree with the main point of the article I would like to note that not all front-end positions are created equal. I've worked at amazing shops where there was a clear role definition (made easier

I work at PayPal, though not in fraud detection, and it always seems interesting how much bad publicity the company is getting lately. I personally wish they would address the social part of doing business on the web. There's a reason why t
