I’m not supporting the idea of USA exceptionalism, but scale /absolutely/ does matter. I’ve lived on most continents, and currently in the EU, I can see when even small increases in load on services leads to total breakdown. Ther

The post goes into detail about access frequency and migration between storage classes. Their point is that storing older objects on IA saves money in exchange for latency. A user who tries to fetch a very old project out-of-the-blue can al

Again, the point of this post is that the blizzard is still primarily the same non-local news. Needles existing in a haystack doesn’t mean we shouldn’t discuss the problem with having an ever-increasing haystack.

This post is about the disappearance of local news - if there isn’t any other news to read, you’re stuck with the FUD is my point.

I would argue that the problem goes much deeper than for historians. By focusing on the most FUDed national/international news all day, people are collectively incensed all day long for no reason. Doesn’t matter that it won’t affect th

Unity stock peaked during the ZIRP COVID phenomena, looks like it’s only been downhill from there.

Yes, I understood the idea of the formula. Rather, my question is - how does chatGPT know how to value those variables? It doesn't have a real understanding AFAIK.

How exactly does ChatGPT perform scoring of articles? I don’t understand this aspect.

Yes, and they are fixed regardless of your wage. As a FAANG employee, they are negligible in the grand scheme of things; but as a minimum wage worker, they will meaningfully eat into your earned income.

My repeated point has been that morality != religious sin, rather the latter is a subset. I don’t necessarily agree with laws/taxes in this regard, but it’s important to understand where they come from.

Personally, I find quite a big difference between the standard of the already widespread usage of K8S versus the cult of personality around DHH who is abrasively opinionated at times.

Gas is not charged by solely by consumption, so connecting an electric stovetop doesn’t solve the costs, or solve the safety of having a gas connection, or solve the space lost to the gas stove. Why have all that extra hassle for something

I think you’re gravely misguided. BAC has nothing to do with sin, it’s connected to the morality and ethics of putting your fellow citizens at risk of your impaired driving.

All of what you say could be true - I just find it hard to believe given IRL finance bros are constantly trading and profiting off of futures/commodities trading without a single worry of the underlying commodity.

Kindly do not make ad-absurdum arguments. My point is that you need to weigh the advantages and disadvantages. Some individuals wanting baba-ganoush in NY should not be the reason to avoid electrification for the others. I appreciate that f

Straight from Wikipedia, which is an objective source for such a general topic. Religious morality is a sub-category, not all of morality itself. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morality

I’m not a huge fan of taxes, but they are absolutely about morality. Society as a whole deciding to discourage consumption of harmful/unhealthy things like sugar, soda, cigarettes, alcohol, etc.

That’s because they started as a static indexable host for Slack/Discord. The real-time chat features appear to be brand-new (to me atleast).
