I assume they always "knew" the drive was not working and the real exercise was to find why the measurements failed? Which makes this finding interesting because they can design for better experiment next time?

Intel was unable to improve their fabrication process year after year, while promising to do so repeatedly. Now, they have been practically lapped twice. Apple has a somewhat specific use case, but their cpus have significantly better perfo

I think the three major OSes are now sufficiently different that calling any of them “better” than the others is meaningless. All three have issues but they are in different places. And many of the things people complain about are just diff

Is this different from the ctrl+[ ctrl+space ctrl+b ] workflow? as those are not mentioned.

Do most users block images? I doubt it (but I have no data). I'd assume that most users use web clients, and very few if any web clients block images by default.

My bad, I have been conflating aGPS and WPS. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wi-Fi_positioning_system Still, phones do use hotspot location databases for positioning.

Nearby wifi hotspot location is the base for aGPS. Without it it would be slower and eat up more battery.

The general case would be to have text written in the same paragraph align well. To me that encompasses same baseline, same x height, and in the case of mixing scripts same cap height (in case of CJK). Basically “do what I mean”. I understa

That doesn’t solve the need of: “I have two different fonts and want to display them having the same size”. And also “I want to center a piece of text inside a box”. Both of which are basically impossible these days without special casing f

It definitely has its place. The problem is mostly that you have to actually change your code to debug it, and then remember to change it back.

I was mainly refreshing the pages of as many vendors I’ve found and overpaid. I wonder if Steam, GOG and Epic could somehow pool and make a “gamer certificate” to skip ahead of scalpers and miners. Nvidia seems to try to brick the drivers o

I think that's a bit too much, it's reasonable to expect that cars will stay on the road. It's the interfaces that are dangerous.

Yeah, that's also my takeaway. I've also ran into this when debugging stuff inside the Dev Tools console, but it's not really an issue when writing code.

Do they have to enter the modern world and compete with the modern languages? Personally, I’d like them to focus on shell scripting and tool making. (But that’s what I use Perl for, so of course I’d say that)

I believe security should optimise for the threat levels on the order of importance. No.1 is password reuse, which is what password managers solve.

I have little faith site developers care about password managers. Many even try to block them from working due to some perceived notion that they are insecure.
