I wish it was possible to give contacts permission the same way one can share photos. Apps should not have free access to all contacts but anything else is currently highly impractical to the point of being unusable. (Android work profile i

There is a (dystopian) world where AI is so good at making movies or series so well tailored to a person so cheaply that there will be no more shared culture. It’s reaching, of course, but imo the best shows are those that have small, dedic

At the moment 6 out of 30 front page articles are about AI. That’s honesty quite okay.

Yep. Iirc any kind of diet works as long as it is restrictive. Even if the restriction is “do not eat anything that has blue on the package”.

How about cyborg prompting your hero image? That screen is facing the wrong way, left and right hand are owned by different people… I guess it’s a good guard to tell people to not bother reading something that the author didn’t bother writi

I did yes. But I realized also that I could enjoy tinkering with something more generally useful and permanent instead.

My argument to moving to a SSR is that I just spent all the time tweaking the backend. Now I can spend more time writing and tweaking just the theme.

Multiple reasons: - first I wanted to always compare my current workout to the previous one (to know what weight to use, how did I do my warmups etc). This I originally did by flipping pages (on paper) or scrolling up. To solve this I have

A workout app that uses human readable/writable text file as input. I’m on the 4th iteration. It started as a bunch of spiral bound notebooks. I made an iOS prototype but realised it’s so niche that it would never get approved. Made a

What I’d like is a utility library like this, but instead of it being an actual library, be it some utility that generates a single file with exports of the few functions I need. Even just something that would make copy pasting them easier.

Sometimes I wonder whether having the document-based-web and application-web in one place a good thing or bad. Ideally the document based web would require only a subset of standards (html, css, and javascript) and should be much simpler to

Putting on my most charitable hat on: - people hate being bored more than ever and don’t want to “invest” even 10 minutes into entertainment, short form videos can be a great way to kill time - it provides a creative outlet for people who d

I think the approach is different. Component style applications have to thing about all component presentation separately, web apps ressemble apps more than documents (d’uh) so it makes sense that they are designed as such. Documents are de

That is fine for professional recipes, when you cook for dozens of people. But for home cooking, if they say 25-35 minutes prep time 40-60 minutes cooking time, I’d expect them to count the cutting in there.

I’ve been cooking with recipes quite a bit lately (before it was just random stuff) and I must say that sequencing is always wrong. Unfortunately they all seem to assume that chopping, cleaning and moving stuff around is all done in 0 time.
