Last night, while putting my children to sleep, I tried to change the volume on my wireless headphones and instead called 911. It also woke up the children because it makes a loud noise like a car alarm. After I cancelled the impending call

Thank you. The comparison of MeowHash to SHA without mentioning MD5 or any actual performance numbers didn't make sense.

MeowHash is also a bad cryptographic hash. Can we compare properties instead of intentions? MD5 is faster than SHA. Is MeowHash faster than MD5 or not?

Not a very good shill: Ring's cameras automatically record audio and cannot be configured to disable the audio recording.

Two calibrated cameras and, more importantly, calibrated accelerometers and gyroscopes. Cameras alone aren't fast enough, and visual feature detaction not accurate enough, to provide a good experience. All of this is within reach o

For the same reason graphical programming languages are still unpoular, and the command line still rules: inputting normalized tags is many orders of magnitude harder than typing free text. Even on an adaptive touch interface. Even with tag

Exactly. Destroying those drives was spun as "oops we made a mistake". It's a lot easier to believe that someone accidentally erased a drive, even three times, than that someone accidentally destroyed millions of sheets of pa

Ok, but lets actually measure the temperature of the pot every now and then. I just bought an iPhone 8 pre-announcement because my phone was broken and in the store I realized that the (original) iPhone X is just too large. And there wasn

Seriously did you look at the chart compared to the Mac Rumors time stamps? This isn't butterflies and hurricanes. I'm not even sure why I'm writing this reply.

The size of the display is actually the important measurement for one handed use. My thumb can reach the far corner of the screen on the 8 but not the X.
