Thank you for the report. I found out about that one the hard way - plenty of crash reports overnight, but luckily only one negative review. I pushed a fix for that, so you could update... and see an empty map. :)

Inspired by the posting about android-locdump last week: http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=2471404 https://github.com/packetlss/android-locdump I wrote an app to show you this information directly on your Android phone. Looking at the

I would have been a lot more interested the five other times I've seen this today if one of the headlines mentioned that it was pulling the location data from backups. I just assumed that it was Yet Another Location Tracking App.

If you're going to do it on the client-side with JavaScript, then you've lost half of the point of redirecting to a mobile site - to reduce the bandwidth and complexity the device has to deal with. You're also not helping out the devices th

Do you find the beta to be worth requesting access to? I feel for the dev - I'm in similar shoes (although I do have a Blackberry co-developer, switching between those two environments is not fun). Sometimes it seems like the only similarit

It is, in the sense that you can rate places from Google Maps and the "Places" icon and it appears to be stored to the same database as Hotpot. That integration is throughout maps. There's also a widget (Rate Places) included with Places/Ma

It's nice to see a detailed comparison from an iPhone user that doesn't hate on Android just because it's not iPhone. I went from iPhone to Android after 6 months of owning an iPhone 3GS (I went to the original Motorola Droid). For me, it w

As near as I can tell it only gives you free storage for MP3s purchased and explicitly downloaded to Cloud Drive /when purchased/. So there might not even be need for smart de-duping - their originals are probably stored in S3 as well.

If you have a middle button, holding down alt while middle dragging gives a nice and easy resize that only requires you be within what seems to be 1/3 of the window's dimensions away from the border you want to resize.

The tooltips would be ok, but they overlap the bullet icon, which makes it feel cluttered. I'm ok with the idea of changing some part of the page based on my movements, but I think it'd work better if you changed the screenshot (perhaps wit

By default Chrome does not allow plug-ins to run at all in incognito mode. You have to explicitly allow the setting highlighted in this screenshot (available from the URL "chrome://extensions") http://img6.imagebanana.com/img/0om09caa/2011
