I'm here just for the game. If you move fast enough, you can glitch the ball against the slides and get stuck.

The parent comment is obviously stupid and has already been down-voted, so HN is doing its job? There is no need to feed the troll.

To be fair, you're crazy CPU-bound. This workload is peanuts for a modern GPU and there's no excuse for it not running at 500+ fps. But that's just how JS goes. You'd probably have better luck with C/wasm for this k

This did get rid of that bottleneck and the stutters are slightly better, but it still has some more work to go. https://ibb.co/LgtJHMs You'll want to get rid of glTexImage2D completely except for application startup (

"Works" on Firefox if you can stomach 300-400ms pauses every 2 seconds. Edit: I just profiled it and it spends 42% of exclusive time in texImage2D. It would be better to allocate a set of textures up front and then use glTexSubIma

You have just described how "innovation" is often just a power shift, often one that does not benefit the user. Old is new again, but in different hands; the right hands, of course.

I have a hard time picturing how an application can be considered anything other than completely broken once a couple threads/workers have deadlocked, so I don't know what any of that quote means. Yeah, I get that browsers isolate

That's what I thought too. Why not raise the price in urban areas, where pollution is greater, as is the standard of living? Then throw in some more public transportation to make up for the difference. The lone white boy chugging gas i

Expect deadlocks in web applications now? I wouldn't necessarily trust a JS programmer with a lock, sorry. They are hard enough in C++ or other languages that generally require a lot more discipline.

[num**2 for num in numbers] There's no way that C implementation is easier to read than the Python one. There's no high-level abstraction going on there and the list comprehension reads like natural language. I agree Rust often ge

A touch screen imposes additional lag, though. Detecting finger swipes for left/right, for example, requires more processing than spinning a fucking dial or pressing on a button. But, like you said, performance doesn't matter anym

But the converse is not true? There is no guarantee the crawler is not amassing data for model training, or that a crawler (AI or otherwise) does not disguise itself as a normal user?
