Perhaps someone should start such a site? I fear if you let that kind of discussion on HN without any curation, it will just become like every other site that allows full scale political discussion. Pretty much a fire hose. You might be rig

I think there's a group of users on HN, including myself that wishes politics were not on the site. One can go almost anywhere to find political discussions because the threshold to join them is so low. Sometimes tech related politics

You can force an Android device to only use LTE, but it's generally hidden from users[1] because it can have side effects some users won't understand. Problem with using LTE only is networks that haven't rolled out VoLTE yet-

I've been working on matching recorded bird audio from a device to known matches and it's not an easy problem (personal hobby project). Unlike music, birds have dialects within the same species and that can make it harder to match

Your comment made me wonder how common it is with birds and it seems to be trait shared with all of them[1]. Pretty interesting. I asked my friend if her bird does that and it only seems to when it's not in a deep sleep yet, but eventu

Ducks do that while sleeping. If you observe ducks sleeping near a pond you'll typically see them sleeping with one eye open and one shut. That way they can still stay alert enough to watch for predators.
