Yeah, I dislike both of those changes as well. I have a pretty long list of things Opera needs to add to versions beyond 12 before I will update to their Blink version. Until then, I'm still using 12 as well.

I think you're generally correct about users not caring about the rendering engine for the most part. I wouldn't care at all that they ditched Presto if it meant they retained all the previous features and user interface they had

Too late to edit my post, but you can complete the current line (in quotes or parentheses) by pressing ctrl+shift+enter, which jumps the cursor to the next line below. Works for Intellij or Visual Studio with Resharper.

Can you clarify what you mean? When I hit tab in visual studio it creates a tab in between a set of quotes (e.g. Console.Write("blah blah "); ) It could be because I'm using resharper, but just curious what the feature is

Yeah, it's not too great due to relying on the JVM for rendering. I use Liberation Mono with it and it looks pretty good (even with anti-aliasing set to off). Everything else, not so much. The top image[1] at the Slant programming font

For what it's worth, I used Eclipse for 3-4 years before Intellij (it was what my university introduced students to for programming in C++ and Java). Switching to Intellij was pretty painless other than initial configuration overload (

There's still plenty of asinine comments in the Android Marketplace after Google forced G+ for ratings/reviews there. Only thing it has done is make it easier to track down bad reviewers if you're a developer to get more feed

Happened once before (sorta) in a dispute over state boundaries. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toledo_War Ohio ended up getting the area around the Ohio/Michigan state line and Michigan got the upper peninsula.

There's plenty of sucrose in fruit[1] (juice). Sucrose is the sweet tasting element of fruit. Fructose, or fruit sugar, is a simple monosaccharide found in many plants, where it is often bonded to glucose to form the disaccharide sucro

With DLC and other bells and whistles tacked onto many games these days that would have normally been part of the core game, the base price quickly inflates to be more in line with inflation.

Never used Jersey so cannot comment on ease of use at the code level. It may be similar, but it'll likely not have other nice features that Play has that sets it apart from other Java Frameworks. I was comparing against any Java Framew

Play 2.0 comes with Netty[1] built into it for making asynchronous requests, websockets and REST easier to handle. Netty is what replaces Tomcat unless you choose to use a third party plugin that builds your Play 2.0 website as a WAR file.

With Play 2.0 in Java, there's more verbosity (though nothing like any J2EE framework) in using Java and lack of syntactical sugar features as well as functional programming features (which are widely used in parts like JSON for Play).
