Can anybody remember the story, I think it was a few years ago, when a journalist warned in an article that messaging apps like Whatsapp are vulnerable because they rely on a server for key exchange, and all the security researchers request

I'm trying to come up with an explanation why TI would do that. The only explanation I can come up with is that TI wants a closer relationship with their customers. They don't want to be a commodity chip producer. When distributor

As soon as they make a usable remote control for that robot the US military is going to buy a bunch of them and attach machine guns and use them to shoot up "suspected terrorists". Looking at what the US military has been doing wi

Offline trajectory optimisation sounds a lot like a dancer training dance moves?

There's more to it than just that. There's no way that just moving to predefined limb positions would be stable. You can't script an unstable system without feedback. Any tiny perturbation would cause the robot to fall over.

I'm pretty sure that most overtime regulations apply only when the employer instructs you to work overtime. You get a higher rate because you have to work more hours than you agreed in your contract. You can't just voluntarily wor

But this is an hour cap. The employer is saying, don't work more than 20 hours, or I'll lower your rate. It's better than a strict cap, since it does offer people to work more if they want. It would only be unfair if the empl

In my opinion the best work monitor in the world is the built in monitor of the Surface Studio. It's a 28" 3:2 monitor, resolution is 4500x3000. Text is crisp, images are perfect, there's lots of vertical space. As an additio

This is the solution. Power doesn't have to be free, but it should be everywhere. It's like all the EV charging networks try to replicate gas stations. It's stupid. Nobody wants to take their car to a charging station, pay by

Opening bank accounts is pretty cheap and easy in Austria. I don't know what it's like in Indonesia, hence my question.

The problem in that case was with a partners bank, not my own. The solution was to request payments in USD rather than EUR and have my bank do the conversion.

Did you actually try multiple banks? Is the banking ststem really that broken in Indonesia? My experience is that bank fees vary greatly. My (limited) experience with US banks is that they have huge hidden fees and you get really bad curren

You can get 3D data from a single moving camera. The technique is called structure from motion and has been demonstrated to work well more than a decade ago. The biggest problem with relying on visual data is that you get very noisy data. P

Here's a trick how to get beautiful studio-like lighting for less than 50€: - buy two large sheets of white styrofoam (1m x 0.5m or bigger) - buy two cheap bright floodlights (the brighter the better) - get some mounting materials (eg.
