Piggybacking on this thread, is stealing a common thing across the whole of the US or is it restricted to some areas? I keep getting asked how people in n San Francisco are living with crime so rampant and they send a video of gangs stealin

Over the last few years Amazon has been overwhelmed by Chinese goods and over time the search results has become similar to aliexpress. I would have never heard the manufacturer’s name and will never remember them either. All of them have c

A tangentially related question. I have, embarrassingly, not kept up with fido. What does it provide? I am guessing it provides a spec for a iOS keychain equivalent where passwords are stored in a dongle (or software) and “let out” based on

It’s just statistical probability. The number of employees left is small and the amount of code is huge. It’s not a huge leap to say that a bug is unlikely to be in the area of expertise of the folks that are left. I would say it’s the prob

This situation is very attractive to say yes to. However everything I see from Musk makes me think he doesn’t value the engineering that goes into Twitter. He thinks it’s easy and doesn’t require the best minds unlike his space company. Tha

How much of what that article says is true? I understand that Elon is destroying twitter but it was reported that the drop in the Eli Lily stock was because they lost some patent litigation and not the fake tweet. I don’t know what to belie

Is this some kind of joke? Companies crave users whether active or not. They spend a lot of money trying to acquire new users, in fact one of their subsidiary sends me emails offering $10 to come back. In that environment how is PayPal char

There probably is a less nefarious reason here. They built a “send this song to Alice” feature but supporting it for non-Apple services is very tough. They will need to work with everyone to integrate it. It’s possible they haven’t gotten t
