Hey, thank you for this, I'm glad someone said this. It sounds like you know a lot about this. Are there any companies known for flexible hours the way that some companies are famous for remote work? As a night person, I've always

When something like this is found, is the family just out of luck as far as the value of the item goes, or do they somehow get compensated? Obviously they didn't know it was stolen when they bought it from the rare document dealer. Is

I feel like you work at my last company. But so many companies f * this up that it could be any company. I got fired from any last job after being one of the only engineers willing to say something to management about this. I figured I had

It seems like the other comments in here are proving her point. Hacker News, too, proves to be an insensitive place.

Good distinction, thank you. I wonder if there are stats somewhere to see what percent of capital is in public markets vs private. Also, now that so many of the unicorns like Uber and Lyft are going public, I wonder how much of the market i

I recall learning this too. I never heard that prices shouldn't go up. Maybe the above person meant that the total valuation shouldn't go up? If so, that logic does check out.

> indicates that they can't find growth opportunities at any price. This is a great way to put it! Thank you. Would it be fair to say that this suggests the market isn't really expanding and has essentially become zero-sum (or

I was taught in economics classes that buybacks make sense when there is nothing the company believes it can spend the money on instead to increase its profit. If this is true, should we be concerned that this is a market signal that the ec

The client side code is open source. The server hosting aspect costs money. Open source is not the same as free.

No because I'm also making the argument that the browser is not much less secure than the other JS platforms.

That doesn't make it any less secure, there are plenty of open source cryptography libraries and apps like Signal. Closed source doesn't equate to secure.

As others have posted, JS is much more than script tags in the browser. There's also React Native, Electron, Node, and many other less well known platforms for JS outside of the browser. Additionally, browser E2E encryption depends on
