So eating humans is only wrong, because other people think it is wrong and there are laws against it? I find that really shortsighted. Slavery isn't bad because we as a society have decided it so. It always has been bad.

I don't think it is a good idea to reduce the supply over time. It may make sense in some cases, but some addicts are better of by having a constant supply. Pharmaceutical grade opioids are pretty safe. Far safer than legal drugs like

Fixing infrastructure is not always useful. Infrastructure for low density suburbs is a money pit that bankrupts cities. Here is a good playlist that explains why this is the case: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_SXXTBypIg

> "I don't like these people and these people support EA, so EA is bad. Also I think trickle down economics is an accurate model." This would have been a much shorter article without losing substance.

Taking a break every few weeks is a really good idea, it is also how most bodybuilders go about achieving ~5% body fat. I'd also recommend measuring weight loss as percentage of body weight.

Being "off diet" (at roughly maintenance) for a week or two every few weeks seems to make a diet easier to stick to and keep your target weight once yo reach it. This goes into a bit more detail: https://www.youtube.com

> Everything related to transportation sucks. That is not the case everywhere. There are plenty of walkable places with good public transport systems. As the saying goes: "A developed country is not a place where the poor have cars.

Have you been to Switzerland? Going on a hike where you don't need to go back to the place you started is pretty convenient.

There is this thing called trains and public transport. I don't live in a city. I don't have or need a car. I can do nearly everything with a 10 minute walk. There are two city centers available to me within a 20 minute train ride

That is not a good rate to lose weight. A rate of ~1% per week for 3-4 months followed by 1-2 months of maintenance before the next weight loss phase is much more sustainable and you are more likely to not gain back the weight after the tar

Proportional voting for congress per state would solve this. If the 27 seats from New York would be distributed via proportional voting, then a party with just a few percent of votes can get some political power.

Is there solid evidence, not just theorizing, for this? Our bodies can deal with damaged DNA. Proving that low rates of DNA damage increase cancer risk proportionaly to the risk asociated with high rates of damage seems nearly impossible. S

I find the advice 'all sun exposure is bad' pretty unhelpful. It is on the same level as teaching abstinence as sex education. Our bodies deal with some form of damage all the time. Is there really evidence that someone that slowl

You can have a baby with protected sex. No birth control except abstinence is 100% effective. It is much worse if you look only at methods that men have control over. Birth control for men is still quite limited. There is not a single non-p
