I think it makes sense. There is absolutely space. BUT you couldn’t move the people through the city and bay area with current infrastructure. Money (in big amounts) needs to be taken away from roadwork and poured into public transport.

I respectfully disagree. The articles and discussion here specifically talk about the enjoyment of Market street for pedestrians and cyclists. I am not suggesting to use money allocated for transportation on something else. I’m suggesting t

This is probably commendable, but for me personally, cars, or state of pavement, are not the biggest problems to enjoying Market street. The homelessness crisis is. I’m surprised no one yet mentioned it in this long thread. $600 million mig

The article talks about two different things: 1) Whether the iPad is revolutionary, and how in this respect it compares to the iPhone and the Mac. 2) iPad’s split-screen UX The two are not linked in a casual relationship imho. I personally

I’m glad that this your view, thanks for the clarification. You did literally write that ad tech is on the “opposite end of meaningful work spectrum”, and we both agree that space exploration is certainly on the positive end of it. This lit

I guess it’s a suicide to point this out on HN, but not everyone thinks Ad Tech is the opposite of meaningful work. I think it’s a very “limited imagination” point of view if you a) can’t think of anything less meaningful that people spend

This is a good point, but isn’t the US skewed towards trucks (both big and consumer) over vans? I’m guessing from my experience living in the US and EU. (And those stats are likely counting consumer trucks into the passenger category). This
