I'm surprised no one has mentioned this alternative: disable JavaScript. It's fairly easy in any browser to create a list of websites to ignore JavaScript on.

That is a crazy amount of resource hogging at 3GB. You're running a music player, a text editor (or IDE), and a chat client. I would expect reasonably that would use less memory. One point you could make is that even native application

And if your core complaint is that they should be serving dinner at 8:15 PM, then what should Holder's recommendation be to prevent sexual harassment from occurring in situations like I described? How do you in your mind divorce advice

Well, isn't it great to have enough capital to hire an attorney general to make flatteringly vague, stupid advice that has nothing to do with the reason he was hired. Sounds a bit naive to me.

Don't act oblivious. The impetus for Eric Holder's hiring to investigate Uber's workplace environment was sexual harassment. The wording is intentionally vague to try and soften the allegations which are damning. The fact tha

I think you're missing the focus. Obviously, catering dinners for employees at 8:15 PM has created an environment that encourages sexual harassment, otherwise this would never have been included in an investigative report. An example,

What about chewing tobacco? All smokeless tobacco has risks of cancer. I would not say that nicotine is harmless without a large amount of proof, and it should take about as much proof to say that it is not a carcinogen.

Oh, people love Wal-Mart and McDonalds too, but they have huge negative externalities that are bad for their workers and the global food supply.

That is exactly the question you should be asking, thank you. Answer is they provide great rates for passengers - see all of the anecdotal evidence here - and great pay for drivers. It literally is "too good to be true." It's

Well, Chicago is the city that works. But Uber is a bigger gang than the mob. Should that scare us? Really, things seem less corrupt now than they did with Daley so maybe there aren't big payoffs by taxis, just laziness from them and t

At some point the VC money will run out, so yes the subsidies will collapse. And Uber is the McDonald's or Wal-Mart of ride sharing. When you see employees complain about Wal-Mart being fundamentally unethical, you will see not a damn

Funny you should say that. Austin attempted to do this but the Uber and Lyft lobbyists were able to prop up legislation at the state level. Hard to see that happening with a local taxi co.

I think the VC money and lack of regulations is a huge issue. What people don't realize is that once the taxi companies are dead, the ride sharing apps will be able to raise prices and lower quality. Not to mention the issues already s

Forcing drivers to obtain taxi licenses, pass tests, or be screened only affects the price point for the service. Given that Uber is bankrolled by obscene amounts of investment, their price points are artificial anyway. So, to allow them to
